It is a “remote central controlled agricultural SCADA” management system that can be managed by integrating meters and valves for agricultural irrigation purposes specific to each parcel with the ESYS SCADA system. The opening of our project was made by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Prof. Dr. Veysel Eroğlu.
Our project was carried out in Seyitler Closed Irrigation Network in Afyon province together with DSI 18th Regional Directorate and Çobanlar Municipality and was deemed worthy of the best project award in the "District Municipality" category within the scope of "Water Management Awards 2019". The main structure of the project consists of 26 automation panels and a total of 383 field output lines located at the distribution points of the main line, with electronic control units and software infrastructure, within the quantities and usage periods defined by the authorities, either at the unit with irrigation cards or remotely controlled and controlled. The project is the first in Turkey in terms of wireless management of 383 field output lines with only 26 automation panels.
Our project offers farmers the opportunity to remotely open and close irrigation valves according to the allocated irrigation time and amount, without going to their fields, anywhere in the world, via mobile devices (such as mobile phones and tablets). In this way, farmers can manage their irrigation processes independently of their location and save time and produce more efficiently. In addition, thanks to the control software infrastructure of the Irrigation Union, instant irrigation statuses of all parcels can be monitored and union officials can manage water usage remotely via the software. The project increases irrigation efficiency by ensuring more efficient use of scarce water resources. By correctly transmitting the planted product information to the system by farmers, the amount of irrigation is determined according to the water needs of the products, thus preventing unnecessary water consumption. With the automation system, water distribution among farmers is done in a more fair and planned manner. In addition, farmers' water usage can be monitored, planned and managed from the State Hydraulic Works (DSI) and the union center. Significant savings are achieved by controlling costs in water usage, human resources, fuel, vehicles and energy. The union management screen records factors such as declaration, planning, consumption and production, and provides water management according to instant data. In addition, the difference in consumption between the total meter and subscriber meters can be determined, and the time and authorization of the operations and interventions can be tracked. The project allows integrated management of both prepaid and consumption-based systems. Alarms such as sabotage, intervention, consumption, pressure and usage status are instantly monitored by the relevant persons, ensuring the most effective water management.
